New Shirt Out on Thursday

City's first Premier League shirt since the Argentinian stripes of relegation will be revealed on Thursday when City's new merch outlet - The COV Store - is also opened.

Rumour has it that to celebrate the 40th year of the FA Cup win, the shirt will be a striped affair and the image doing the rounds is the one to the left, which I'm sure most of you have seen. Judging by the online reaction, it needs to look better in person if it is that one as its not been universally well received. Saying that, City could probably introduce a bin bag to wear and at this point they'd sell out, such is the feel good factor around the place.
Personally it looks more like a Sheff Weds or Huddersfield kit to me. Maybe there's someone sitting behind their laptop somewhere chuckling about making the image and City fans falling for it. This image has been around a couple of months now and although there has been rumours of stripes for a long time I don't think City would wear a kit this shade of blue. Mind you the FA Cup stripes weren't exactly sky blue.

This image has also been knocking around for a while. I like this shirt, its definitely a better blue. It features the Hummel logos which I can't see on the one above. Those rumours of stripes though have been very persistent so that would rule this one out.
Either way, the new COV store sounds some shop. It's been completely revamped to 15000 sq feet. There's a Drive Experience with racing simulators, I'm guessing thats in conjunction with HAAS and The Story which is a history of the club that can be changed. It's going to start with "The Journey Back", a story of League 2 to now. It's even got an inbuilt DJ booth and can be hired out for private events. Bangin'.
