So, not the greatest win record at the City Ground but we have avoided defeat 20 times out of 48.

The most recent visit was a 2–0 defeat on 6 April 2022. City conceded a goal in each half and fielded a baby faced Viktor Gyokeres!

The year before that City visited in November 2020 amid COVID lockdown, going down 2-1 in front of empty seats. Callum O'Hare equalised in the second half only for City to concede a gut wrenching 97th minute penalty, McFadz harshly judged to have fouled Lyle Taylor who converted the penalty.

We then go back a few years to 2012 with both teams in the bottom 3. City again conceded 2 goals without replying.

The year before City were in a play off spot but guess, what? They conceded 2 goals but at least they scored this time albeit through a Luke Chambers own goal to put them 1 up. City then conceded each side of half time.

December 2009 saw City visit the City ground and......lose 2-0. If you like a bet then 2-0 seems a good scoreline tomorrow.

City had visited 7 months earlier in April 2009 and lost again, on the plus side it was just 1-0 via a Perch goal right after half time. It gets better I promise.

Finally onto some good news with City's last win at the City ground in 2004. Andy Morrell (2), Eddie Johnson and Stephen Hughes put us 4 up before Forest pulled one back for a final score of 4-1 to City.

Lets skip back to 1997 and on a cold January night I treated my then girlfriend, now my wife to Forest away. You can see Gary Mc taking a corner while we eat popcorn in the top right of the image! Huckerby would score the only goal from this corner.

City faced Forest 3 times in a month in 89/90. There was the 2 legged League Cup semi final. City lost 2-1 at the City Ground and drew 0-0 at HR to go out on aggregate. I was gutted as the final would have been on my 18th birthday. The 3rd game was a magnificent 4-2 win featuring 2 absolute belters from David Speedie - a trademark header and trademark chip. I was at the Sky Blue Connexion that night and got chatting to Cyrille Regis who said it was a nice bit of revenge for the semi final defeat.

There's some proper archive footage here of December 1977's trip. City went down 2-1 (see, we were even conceding 2 goals in the 70s!). All the goals came in a 3 minute spell before half time. O'Neill put Forest 1 up, Ian Wallace equalised before McGovern scored the winner. Watch the pitch get progressively muddier!
