Awoniyi Next In

As rumoured. Taiwo Awoniyi  signs on for City in a transfer from Forest for £8 million.

As LAST mentioned the in Rumour Hit Parade v20, Awoniyi should give City something the haven't had for a while, someone to bully defenders.

It seems an emotional move for Awoniyi, who was very highly thought of at Forest after 4 years. It appears he would have been 4th choice striker and at the age of 29 a move made sense for him. The fee seems a good price for City for someone who has played as many Premier League games as he has.

He seems like a thoughly decent chap to boot!

As a reminder, Awonyi played 103 times for Forest and scored 23 goals. Before that he scored 25 goals in 65 games for Union Berlin whilst on loan from Liverpool, where he started out after winning "Most Valuable Player at a Coca-Cola football competition in London" and gaining a place at the Imperial Soccer Academy. Unusual career start! The 29 year old has played 10 times for Nigeria, scoring 2 goals as well as for their U17s, U20s, and U23s.
