Gus is back! The rumours were true! He's seen sense!

Hamer needs no introduction, we all know what we're getting.

What role does he play though? We are suddenly blessed with central midfielders in Grimez, The Tank, Yirenkyi, Rudoni, Eccles and Torp, all playing differing roles obviously. Hamer brings creativity though, set piece mastery and maybe thats where he fits in - plays more in the games we need to win, such as Hull at home and less in the games we need to be tight in such as a big 6 club away. Maybe SFL has some sort of 3-6-1 formation up his sleeve!

City are never explicit about fees paid but is understood to be £6 million. Rumours abound that Sheff Utd still owe money for the move in the other direction so maybe City haven't had to pay that much in the grand scheme of things plus he is entering the last year of his contract.

Enjoy all his City goals and assists here, including his penultimate game against Luton in the play off final. If Hamer stays on uninjured we win. He didn't and maybe just as well, we are in a much better position to make a go of the Premier League than we were then.
