International Round Up

There's a few City players in action over this long international break.

Caleb Yirenkyi and BTA

Both are on Ghana duty and have played one game already, going down 2-0 to the Ivory Coast in the opening AFCON qualifier. Both started the game with BTA being withdrawn on 64 minutes.

Yirenkyi had a good chance to make it 2-1 but his effort was saved when he probably should have scored.

Ghana play their next qualifier on 29th Sept vs Gambia and then a friendly vs Morocco on 5th Oct.

Yann Gboho

Gboho was an unused sub for the Ivory Coast in the game above. Their upcoming games are a second qualifier against Somalia on 30th Sept and then a friendly against Cameroon on 4th Oct.

Jay Dasilva

Wales have a busy time. They went down 1-0 in Portugal in the Nations League first qualifier, JDS playing the whole game.

They have 3 more Nations League qualfiers to play - Denmark (Sept 27 and Oct 4th) and Norway (Oct 1).

Taiwo Awoniyi and Frank Onyeka

A busy time for Nigeria as well with a 2-1 comeback win against Madagascar yesterday in the AFCON qualifiers. Onyeka was an usused sub whilst Awoniyi came on with 21 minutes to go.

Their upcoming games are Guinea-Bissau (Sept 29th) and a friendly against Russia (Oct 6th).

Joel Latibeaudiere

Lati played the whole game at right back vs Guatamala in the CONCACAF qualifiers. It was a pulsating game resulting in an injury time 3-2 win for Jamaica. Kasey Palmer scored and got an assist.

Jamaica have 3 more qualifiers - Honduras (Sept 29th and 6th Oct) and El Salvador (Oct 3th). EMC hasn't travelled as his wife is expecting their 3rd child.

Liam Kitching

Kitching receoved his first international call up for the ROI as soon as he left City on loan to Sheff Utd!

They went down 1-0 to Kosovo yesterday in a Nations League qualifier with Kitching an unused sub. Their games to come are Israel (Sept 27 and Oct 4th) and Austria (Oct 1).

Kai Andrews

Andrews, who is currently on loan at Oxford, is in the Wales U21 squad for Euro qualifiers against Belgium (Sept 29th) and Austria (Oct 6th).

Stephen Mfuni

Impressive Mfuni is on England U21 duty with City old boy Lee Carsley. They beat Kazakhstan 4-2 at Molineux yesterday, Mfuni playing the whole game at left back.

They have Slovakia (Oct 2nd) and Ireland (Oct 6th) to come in European qualifiers.

Eliot Meredith

Mezza, City's promising keeper who was one of 2 players to earn their first pro contract in the summer, has been called up for Wales U19 for a 4 team friendly tournament. Their upcoming games are in Marbella - USA on Sept 29th (KO 11:00am BST), Norway on 2nd Oct (KO 11:00am) and Nothern Ireland on Oct 5th (KO 10:00am BST).
