Rumour Hit Parade - Rushgoalieworth Hits Top Spot!

08/06/2026, 08:08:00 BST

Carl Rushgoalieworth has hit the top of the LAST Rumour Hit Parade.

There are stories everywhere that City have tabled a bid of around £20 million, nearly 3 times City's current transfer record paid for HWWW. I think I'm correct in saying City's previous record for a goalkeeper was for Oliver Dovin, believed to be in the £1.5 million range. (plus add ons). Of course City did break the world record fee paid for a goalkeeper in October 1964 when Jimmy Hill paid £35000 for Bill Glazier. Here's a LINK to an interview with Bill Glazier from the CCFPA.

Signing Rushgoalieworth would be a massive coup for City. We all know what a difference he made last season and was a huge part of City's success and in shipping the least amount of goals in the league.

SIGN THE CONTRACT CARL!

The only other movement in the hot parade is SFL dropping 6 more places to 14th with his odds of going to Palace or Fulham lengthening. You would assume that the bid for Rushgoalieworth and SFL staying are interlinked.

Obviously this all complete conjecture and LAST's opinion! If you see a rumour I've missed out, please let me know in the comments below or via the contact page.

I would imagine if Brighton are willing to sell that any agreed figure would be structures . Maybe £12 million and the rest made up in add ons and a slice of the transfer fee if is sold on by the club.

Agreed, be a structured deal rather than the lot upfront
