BTA Becomes First City World Cup Player for 20 Years

BTA came on for Ghana v Panama in the 58th minute, becoming the first City player to appear at the World Cup since Stern John for Trindad and Tobago in 2006.

Not only that, he changed the game. He could have scored in the last minute of normal time when through on goal but the keeper saved and he was belatedly flagged offside anyway. Then in the 95th minute BTA burst down the left, beat the defender to the ball and crossed across the 6 yard box for Yirenkyi to tap home for the only goal of the game. He was named Man of the Match on the BBC ratings.
